Student Happiness in Coronatimes - Meaningful Work

The Corona measures are having an enormous impact on us, and affect our lives intensely.
Now that we recently started a new year and the lockdown becomes more severe, it is
important to investigate ways to improve our mental state of mind. In this interactive
workshop, we will share our experiences, reflect on the way we deal with the lockdowns and
resulting feelings of loneliness and demotivation. Furthermore, we will share some valuable
scientific lessons on happiness and empower ourselves to form new connections to create a
meaningful student life in Corona times!

To participate in this workshop, you need to fill out a short questionnaire, of which the results
will be discussed anonymously in the workshop.

The workshop will be given by Erik Roebroek, founder and trainer at Meaningful Work.

Erik graduated his Masters in Mechanical Engineering and started his career in industry, but
it never felt right. After spending years searching for alternative career options, he decided to
pack up and travel the world to find answers. He realized the idea of work should be to
contribute something, rather than making money. He soon realized he was not the only one
and founded Meaningful work to change the way we think about work.

Getting creative at home - Network of Arts

On Thursday the 4th of March from 19:30 to 21:00, Network of Arts will organise an open event for every student. Where we'll discuss how we could be getting creative at home! During this event, we will share not only ways in which you could be creative at home (tried and tested by the NoA board) but we are also looking for your input! At the end of the event there will also be an opportunity to form groups with people with similar interests (such as a book club). You might even decide to organize a biweekly/monthly gathering with those groups! We are looking forward to seeing you there!

Walks and the City

University? Online. Shops? Closed. What to do? Walk with friends. Sounds familiar? You may know the parks, streets and paths of Groningen - but still feel lost and trapped in the same environment.

We, the Support Committee of the CLIO study association have the solution! You can accompany us via audio visiting 5 meaningful places to us. Bring your headphones, maybe a friend and set off to listen to the Support Committee's favourite places and their stories. Who knows? You may discover new spots that will make you step out of your everyday surroundings! So walk around the city and experience Groningen from a new perspective!

We recommend downloading the App izi.travel for free for a better performance, although it is not necessary in order to listen to the Audio Tour - which is possible for all International and National students - as it´s all in English.
